It may come directly from something you read or it may not. Either way, the purpose of this site is to stir something up within you that answers a question, reveals a solution, releases something that needs letting go of or, simply, inspires. Our Philosophy
What We Believe
We believe in God, the living Spirit Almighty — one indestructible, absolute, and self-existent Cause.
We believe the manifest universe is the body of God; all creation is the expression of infinite Spirit.
We believe in the incarnation of Spirit in each of us — that we are individualized expressions of the One.
We believe in the eternal Goodness, the eternal Loving-Kindness, and the eternal Givingness of life.
We believe that all paths lead to the same God, and that light overcomes darkness and love overcomes hate.
We believe in infinite possibilities, eternal life, and a spiritual creative process available to all.
We believe the kingdom of Heaven is within us, experienced as we become conscious of it.
We believe in the immortality and continuity of the individual soul, forever and ever expanding.
We believe the ultimate goal of life is complete emancipation from all discord of every nature — a goal sure to be attained by all.
We believe in the direct revelation of Truth through our intuitive and spiritual nature, living in close contact with the indwelling God.
We believe in you.
Leadership
Our Ministers
Rev. Valerie Torphy
Co-Founder & Co-Senior Minister
Rev. Valerie found Religious Science in 2001 after years of searching for a community that taught what she believed. She became a licensed practitioner in 2004, was licensed as a minister in 2011, and ordained in 2014 with Centers for Spiritual Living.
She discovered a passion for Youth Ministry in Ministerial School and built the Youth & Family Ministry at the Center for Spiritual Living Fresno from a single occasional visitor into a thriving ministry of teens and children.
Rev. Valerie also brings deep experience in banking — rising to Vice President — and non-profit leadership, including service as Executive Director of a children's museum.
Rev. Michael Torphy
